Is a temporary tooth usually itemized in an implant quote?
Discussion options
When comparing single-tooth implant estimates, I’d want to know whether the quoted total covers only the implant and final crown, or also a temporary replacement during healing. I’m not assuming everyone needs one, but if it’s offered, the quote could mean a fixed provisional crown or a removable temporary tooth, which aren’t the same thing.
Is that service usually listed separately, and does the estimate explain whether there could be an added fee if healing takes longer than expected? I’d feel more comfortable comparing quotes if the timing and purpose of any temporary tooth were clear.

It’s worth asking whether a temporary’s price covers one placement, or whether extra visits or a remake during longer healing could add charges. That’s a separate comparison point from whether a temporary is included at all. A quote that just says “temporary tooth” may not make those limits clear, so I’d look for the fee trigger in writing before comparing totals.
