RE: Is a temporary tooth usually itemized in an implant quote?
The estimate should also say when the temporary would go in and come out relative to implant placement and the final restoration. That makes it clearer what part of the healing period the quoted fee covers, rather than j...
RE: Water flosser pressure: better cleaning or more gum irritation?
For braces, “increase pressure gradually” may not be the best goal if higher settings leave the gums sore. A lower comfortable setting with an orthodontic tip can clean around brackets and under the wire more consistentl...
RE: Swollen gums and braces: is this normal or just me?
I totally get this. I swear, if I’m even a little lazy one night, my gums get puffy and sore the next day. Does anyone else feel like using those little floss threaders is just... endless? I tried switching to those tiny...
RE: How do you keep track of your gums between dentist visits?
I get super nervous about missing something, honestly. I’m in braces right now, so my gums are sometimes puffy or red just from the brackets. How do you tell if it’s normal irritation from orthodontics or something more ...
RE: Surprised by what’s lurking in “healthy” snacks?
I totally get the “tooth police” vibe - my friends joke that I’m paranoid, but after getting braces, I started questioning every snack. Anyone else get nervous about even healthy stuff like apples or carrots? I feel like...
RE: How often do your kids actually need to see the dentist?
Is it just me, or does anyone else get super stressed about missing even one checkup? My kid’s had braces for a year now and I’m always worried something will go wrong if we push it past six months. Is that just my anxie...
RE: Surprising Ways To Brighten Your Smile Without The Ouch Factor
I totally get what you mean about the burning - every “gentle” mouthwash I’ve tried still makes my gums tingle or leaves a weird aftertaste. Swishing with water is honestly the only thing that doesn’t freak my mouth out....
RE: Thinking about getting veneers - does bonding really last?
That’s what freaks me out too. I’ve had bonding done twice now and both times it started looking rough after a year or two. But the thought of permanently altering my teeth for veneers makes me super anxious. Does anyone...
RE: Braces for buck teeth vs deep bites: did you know they're not the same thing?
Totally agree. I actually left my first appointment more confused than before. When they said "overjet," I just nodded but had no clue what it meant. Did anyone else get super anxious about the headgear thing? My ortho m...
RE: How soon did you get back to your routine after a tooth pulled?
I’m always super paranoid about messing up the healing, so I probably waited even longer than a week before brushing near the extraction site. Every little twinge had me convinced I’d ruined everything. Did you have trou...
RE: Worth it to put protective coatings on kids’ teeth?
Totally get that - braces make everything harder. I’m always worried I’m missing something even after brushing and flossing forever. Seems like sealants for adults are kind of a gamble. I wish there was a better option f...
RE: What Helped Me Heal Faster After That Annoying Root Tip Surgery
I’m the same way - honestly, I was so paranoid about infection that I even used bottled water for rinsing at first. Did you ever worry about accidentally missing a spot when brushing around the stitches? I kept thinking ...
RE: How soon did you get back to your routine after a tooth pulled?
That “raw” feeling lasted way longer than I expected for me - almost two weeks before I could even think about biting into anything crunchy. Did you ever get nervous about messing up the healing? I kept worrying I’d disl...
RE: The great dental quest: searching for planet-friendly floss
I keep hearing about water flossers, but I’m always worried they’re not actually getting in between my teeth, especially with the wires and brackets in the way. Does anyone else feel like reusable picks don’t quite reach...
RE: Worth it to get custom whitening trays from the dentist?
I keep hearing the dentist trays work better, but I'm worried about sensitivity. Did you notice any pain after using the custom ones? I had some trouble with the strips making my gums sting, so I'm kinda nervous about th...
