I totally get what you mean about whitening strips—my teeth felt almost electric after using those. I’ve had better luck just sticking with gentle brushing and the occasional baking soda scrub (but not too often). Has anyone actually noticed a change from switching up their diet, like cutting back on coffee or wine? I always wonder if that really makes a difference long-term or if it’s just wishful thinking...

Cutting back on coffee was tough for me, but honestly, I got paranoid about stains after my last cleaning. I did notice my teeth looked a bit brighter after a few months without my daily cup, but it might just be in my head—hard to tell. I still get nervous about using anything too harsh, especially with my gums being sensitive these days. Has anyone else struggled with tooth sensitivity after trying those home remedies? I always feel like I’m trading one problem for another...

Yeah, I’ve had the same problem after using baking soda on my teeth. My gums felt raw for days… How do people deal with the sensitivity? Is there a way to get rid of stains without making it worse? I’m always worried I’ll mess something up.

We went through something similar with my daughter—she wanted to try baking soda after seeing it online, but her gums got super sore. I felt awful because I thought it was a gentle option. Ended up calling our dentist, who said some folks are just more sensitive and that those DIY things can be pretty harsh. We switched to a whitening toothpaste for sensitive teeth, and honestly, it’s been way better. The stains aren’t gone overnight, but at least she’s not in pain. It’s tough figuring out what actually works without making things worse...
