How a good cleaning session helps (or hurts) my nerves

I tried using that Method all-purpose cleaner for my last deep clean, and honestly, it was a mixed bag. The scent was kinda calming, which helped with my anxiety a bit, but I still felt overwhelmed by how much there was to do. Sometimes I wonder if the right cleaning products actually make a difference for anyone else’s nerves, or is it just me overthinking it? Does having a “ritual” or certain tools help you get through it, or nah?

I totally get where you’re coming from. For me, having a set routine with cleaning—like always starting in the same room or using a favorite rag—does make things feel less chaotic. The right scent can be soothing, but honestly, sometimes it’s just about getting started that’s the hardest part. I’ve found breaking it into smaller chunks helps my nerves more than any particular product. And hey, if a certain cleaner smells nice and makes you feel a bit better, I say that counts for something.

Same here. I get super anxious before deep cleaning—makes me think of dental cleanings, honestly. I always use the same toothbrush at home, like it’s a lucky charm or something. Little routines help, but yeah, starting is the worst part.
