“Only downside: my wallet still cries a little when I think about the bill.”

That’s the part nobody warns you about—those implant bills sting for a while. I had a bit of an adjustment period, mostly just getting used to the pressure and the way the crown felt against my tongue. It wasn’t painful, just... odd. But compared to the hassle I had with my old bridge shifting or trapping food, I’d call it a win. Steak and apples are back on the menu for me too. Funny how you don’t realize how much you miss biting into stuff until you can do it again.

That’s good to hear you adjusted pretty quickly. My kid’s dentist keeps saying implants are the “gold standard,” but I keep worrying about the healing time and whether it’ll feel weird long-term, especially for a young person. Was it hard to get used to eating again? I’m nervous about the cost too, but if it really means fewer issues down the line, maybe it’s worth it. The idea of not having to fuss with a bridge shifting is tempting...
