Which floss brands actually last through the whole mouth?

Totally get what you mean about the slippery floss just kind of... gliding through without really grabbing anything. I switched to one of those thick, woven types for a while and felt like it actually “caught” more, but then it kept getting stuck and shredding on my tight teeth. Minty floss is a game-changer, though—I swear I started flossing more just because it felt fresher after. Have you ever tried any of those coconut or cinnamon flavored ones? I’m curious if they’re actually good or just kinda weird.

I’ve been on a weird quest for floss that doesn’t just disintegrate halfway through, and honestly, I still haven’t found “the one.” The thick, woven stuff feels like it’s actually doing something but yeah, it’s like playing dental Jenga with tight teeth—sometimes it shreds, sometimes it just gets stuck and I’m standing there with half a string hanging out of my mouth. Not cute.

Minty is definitely less boring, but I tried this coconut flavored one from Cocofloss (my friend swore by it) and…it was kinda strange? Like, not bad, but also not what my brain expects when I’m cleaning my teeth. Cinnamon sounds interesting though—at least it’d feel spicy-fresh?

It’s wild how picky I’ve gotten about floss. Never thought I’d have opinions on string, but here we are. If anyone’s found a brand that actually survives the whole mouth without turning into confetti, I’m all ears.

Honestly, you’re not alone. I used to just grab whatever was on sale, but after one too many times fishing shredded bits out from between my teeth, I started getting picky too. The coconut flavor threw me off as well—my brain just couldn’t accept “tropical” as a dental vibe. I’ve had a bit more luck with Glide (the regular kind, not the super thin one), but even that’s not perfect if you’ve got tight spots. It’s weirdly validating to know someone else is on this oddly specific journey. Keep at it—your gums will thank you.

Haha, same here. I tried that one once and it was like my mouth was on vacation but my teeth were not impressed. For me, Cocofloss actually holds up pretty well, but it’s thicker and sometimes feels weirdly textured. Glide is smooth but yeah, it does slip out of my fingers sometimes or just shreds if I’m not careful. I’ve also noticed that waxed floss in general seems to survive longer for me, but it’s a bit of trial and error depending on the day (and how much coffee I’ve had).

I totally get what you mean about the coconut flavor—my brain just kept thinking I’d grabbed the wrong product from the bathroom shelf. I actually panicked a bit the first time Cocofloss got stuck between two tight teeth. It’s sturdy but that thickness can be a double-edged sword. Glide is easier for me to handle, but I’ve had it snap on me mid-floss, which isn’t great for the nerves when you’re already tense about dental stuff. Waxed flosses seem to last longer for me too, but sometimes they feel a bit slippery? Maybe it depends on how much pressure I’m using or if my hands are still shaky from coffee jitters.
