Popcorn is the worst for me too—always gets wedged in some impossible spot. I’ve noticed spicy chips make my gums puffier, maybe from the salt? Not sure if it’s just the food or my brushing technique though... anyone else get that weird tingling after?

Spicy chips totally mess with my mouth too, and I never know if it's the ingredients or just how rough they are on my gums. I get that tingling sometimes, especially after eating anything with a lot of flavor dust. Honestly, with braces it feels like everything is out to get stuck or irritate something... I used to think it was just me being paranoid, but I guess it's more common than I thought. Sometimes I worry I'm brushing too hard trying to get it all out, but then my gums puff up even more. You're not alone in this—it's honestly such a hassle on a budget because dental stuff adds up fast.

I swear, I’m always second guessing if it’s the chips or just my own bad luck with braces. Do you ever get that weird burning feeling even with stuff that isn’t spicy? I keep thinking maybe I’m brushing too hard too, but then if I go softer, food just hangs out in there longer... Is there actually a right way to brush with braces, or is everyone just winging it? Also, how do people afford all these special brushes and rinses? My wallet’s crying.

Had this concern before too 😭 I got mine checked at Elevate Dental and they explained what was causing it and what I needed to do. Better to have your gums checked instead of assuming it’s just because of the braces. 🫶
