That’s funny—I’ve tried sea salt and table salt for rinses, but honestly couldn’t tell a real difference in how my gums felt. If there’s any science to the “fancy” salts being better, it’s lost on me. From what I’ve read (and from what my dentist said), the actual benefit comes from the salt creating a mild antiseptic environment and helping draw out fluids from inflamed tissue, not the type of salt itself.
