Kinda curious how many people here have had an apicoectomy (that root tip surgery thing) and how it turned out for you. I had mine about 8 months ago after a failed root canal, and honestly, I was super nervous about the whole thing. Recovery wasn’t too bad for me—some swelling, a little pain, but nothing compared to the toothache beforehand. Still, I keep reading mixed stuff online about whether they really work long-term.

So here’s a quick poll for anyone who’s been through it:

1. How did your apicoectomy go?
- Total success (tooth saved, no more problems)
- Kinda worked (improved, but still some issues)
- Didn’t work (ended up losing the tooth anyway)

2. How rough was recovery for you?
- Easy peasy
- Manageable, but not fun
- Honestly, kinda miserable

3. Would you do it again or just skip straight to an implant next time?

For me, I’d probably try it again if needed, just ‘cause I’m stubborn about keeping my own teeth. But I’ve got a friend who said she’d never do it again after hers failed and she needed an implant anyway.

If you’ve had one (or even if you decided against it), what was your experience? Did your dentist give you any idea of the odds? I feel like everyone’s story is different—you know? And did insurance cover much for you? Mine was a bit of a headache.

Curious to hear how it went for others—whether you’d recommend it or warn people away.
