RE: Keeping old bridges in shape - what actually works?
Totally relate to this! My kiddo has a bridge and we went down the water flosser route too... what a mess. Those little brushes from the drugstore are what her dentist recommended anyway, so we stuck with them. I get tem...
RE: How soft is too soft for toothbrush bristles?
That “you’re not sanding a table” line made me laugh - my kid’s dentist said almost the same thing after spotting early gum recession. We’d always assumed a good scrub was the way to go, but nope. Switching my son to sof...
RE: Did Your Apicoectomy Work Out? Quick Poll on Outcomes & Recovery
We went through this with my daughter last year, and I remember feeling really overwhelmed by the whole process - especially the cost part. Our dentist was upfront about possible outcomes, but insurance barely chipped in...
RE: Braces for buck teeth vs deep bites: did you know they're not the same thing?
We’ve definitely had to adjust things as my daughter’s teeth started shifting. At first, she was just using the little rubber bands in one spot, but then the ortho switched her to a different pattern. I worried it meant ...
RE: Improve Your Oral Health & Preventive Care with Trusted Dental Experts
I totally get this. My kiddo used to dread dentist visits, and honestly, I did too - mostly because the old office felt cold and rushed. Switching made such a difference. The staff actually takes time to talk to my son, ...
RE: Creamy, Gritty, or Gel? What’s Your Toothpaste Texture Go-To
Totally agree with this. My kiddo has really sensitive teeth, and we learned the hard way that those whitening pastes were just way too harsh. Swapping to a mild gel was honestly such a relief for both of us - no more co...
RE: The great dental quest: searching for planet-friendly floss
We’ve been through the floss struggle with my kid too - tight teeth and sensory stuff make it a whole ordeal. Tried one of those “natural” brands that came in a glass vial, but it just frayed like crazy and honestly made...
RE: Keeping your tongue scraper from becoming a science experiment
I totally get the worry about keeping things clean enough, especially when kids are involved. My daughter’s dentist actually said just rinsing and letting it dry is fine unless you notice any buildup or weird smell, whic...
RE: Root Canal Nerves: Did Anyone Else Actually Feel Relieved Afterward?
My kid had a root canal earlier this year and I totally get where you’re coming from. She was so anxious beforehand, but afterward she kept asking if it was supposed to feel “weird” or “different.” The pain was gone, but...
RE: What foods did you give up or swap after getting braces?
Reading this just brought back memories of navigating snacks for my kiddo after she got her braces on. Popcorn was a huge loss in our house too - movie nights just weren’t the same for a while. I totally get what you mea...
RE: Losing teeth from gum issues: saw this in the news, anyone relate?
I totally get where you’re coming from - my kid’s dentist has been on me about upping our home routine too. It’s easy to think all this stuff is just hype until you see some real changes (or, in my case, the threat of ca...
RE: Kicking the thumb habit - anyone else see their kid’s teeth straighten out?
Totally get this. I was the same - felt like I needed to take action ASAP, but then my kid’s teeth just…sorted themselves out after a while. Kids’ mouths are wild, honestly. My dentist kept saying “let’s just watch,” and...
RE: Making the switch: how I use my water flosser (and where I still mess up)
That made me laugh - my kid somehow manages to get water on the mirror, the floor, and even the door. I’m always amazed at the reach. We started using a towel under the flosser and it helps a little, but honestly, I thin...
RE: WHY DOES A ROOT CANAL NEED A DO-OVER? UGH.
Popcorn is banned in our house during braces season - my kiddo learned the hard way too. Water flossers are a lifesaver, but yeah, those gums get sore. Sometimes it feels like dental work just never ends... hang in there...
