"Did your dentist mention anything about alternating ibuprofen and acetaminophen? Mine suggested it, and it seemed to help manage the pain better, especially at night."

My dentist mentioned that too, but honestly, I'm a bit nervous about mixing medications. I've been sticking strictly to ibuprofen every 6 hours, setting alarms on my phone so I don't miss a dose. Scrambled eggs were okay for me around day 3, but I was so paranoid about chewing that I practically swallowed them whole... Warm compresses didn't do much either—mostly just calmed my nerves a bit. Glad I'm not the only one who didn't see much swelling relief from them.

My dentist actually suggested alternating too, and at first I was hesitant about mixing meds, but honestly it made a noticeable difference for me. Totally get the scrambled eggs thing though...I lived off mashed potatoes and yogurt for days, chewing anxiety is real, lol.

Did your dentist mention anything about rinsing with salt water or antiseptic mouthwash? My kiddo had an apicoectomy recently, and besides the meds shuffle (which I also questioned at first), gentle rinses seemed to help a lot with the healing. Totally agree about chewing anxiety though...we stocked up on smoothies and soups. Did you find any other soft foods that worked well? We got pretty creative with pasta cooked extra soft, but even that was tricky at first.

Yeah, pasta was a bit tricky for me too at first—felt like I was chewing forever, even when it was super soft. I ended up leaning heavily on mashed potatoes and scrambled eggs. They're cheap, easy, and filling enough to keep me from feeling hungry every hour. Also, oatmeal was a lifesaver—especially if you let it soak a bit longer than usual so it's extra mushy. Not the most exciting menu, but it got the job done without breaking the bank.

About the rinsing, my dentist recommended salt water rinses too, but didn't mention antiseptic mouthwash specifically. Honestly, I stuck mostly to salt water because it was cheaper and seemed gentle enough. Did anyone else find antiseptic rinses noticeably better, or is salt water just as effective? Curious if it's worth the extra cost or not.

Same here, salt water rinses worked fine for me. Antiseptic mouthwash can sometimes irritate sensitive gums after surgery, so gentle salt water is usually enough. Also, Greek yogurt with honey was my go-to snack—smooth and soothing!
