RE: Best way to clean under a fixed full-arch bridge?
Clearance under the bridge matters, but the interdental-brush size is just as important. A dental professional should check which size fits each access point, since the gaps can differ around the implants. Forcing an ove...
RE: How I survived the teething stage (and kept my sanity)
Totally get this. I used to think I had to turn toothbrushing into a Broadway show every night - props, songs, the whole nine yards. But honestly, once we just made it another step in the routine (right after PJs), my ki...
RE: Did you know kids’ sports guards can help with more than just broken teeth?
I totally get where you’re coming from. My son’s mouthguard has seen the floor of every gym and dugout in town, I swear. I started using one of those denture cleaning tablets every couple days - makes me feel a little be...
RE: Weirdest things that actually help with braces pain
Ice cream was my go-to too, honestly. Cold stuff just numbs everything for a bit, way better than trying to distract myself. My ortho said popsicles are okay in moderation, but to watch the sugar. I tried frozen grapes o...
RE: How often do your kids actually need to see the dentist?
This is so true. I’ll admit, we’ve had stretches where we were a few months late, especially during the chaos of school and sports. No one’s perfect. But man, the year we let it slide too far? My youngest ended up with a...
RE: Would You Go for a Brighter Smile with Lasers or Stick to DIY Kits?
Totally get why you’d be hesitant. I had the same worries after my first whitening trays - my teeth were so sensitive I basically lived off room-temp water for a week. Lasers honestly sound like overkill for me, too. I j...
RE: Surprised by what’s lurking in “healthy” snacks?
Totally get what you mean about raisins being “healthy” but actually kind of sneaky. I used to stash those little boxes in my bag, thinking I was making a smart choice - until my dentist showed me all these tiny cavities...
RE: Did you know even a tiny shift in your teeth can mess with your confidence?
That’s so relatable. My daughter finished her braces a couple years ago, and she’s got a tiny gap too - honestly, I never even notice unless she points it out. It’s wild how much those little things can mess with your co...
RE: Tackling decay in 13 teeth
I can totally relate to the mouth rinse thing - some of them just leave my mouth feeling like the Sahara. That weird aftertaste is real, and honestly, it sometimes made me want to brush again just to get rid of it, which...
RE: What’s More Important To Ask: Pain Management Or Long-Term Tooth Health?
Totally relate to what you’re saying about pain just zapping any motivation for dental care. It’s wild how something as simple as brushing can suddenly feel like a huge ordeal when your mouth hurts. I used to beat myself...
RE: How I pack and care for my retainer when traveling - step by step
I totally get what you mean about the case being a secret germ magnet. I used to just rinse mine too, thinking it was enough, but then I noticed that weird smell after a few days. Alcohol wipes are such a game changer - ...
RE: Worried about 6 root canals
Totally get why you’re freaking out - when I found out I needed three root canals, I legit thought I was gonna pass out. The anxiety before the first one was worse than the actual procedure, honestly. My jaw was sore aft...
RE: Does switching to vaping actually help your teeth and gums?
I’ve noticed the same thing with stains - switched to vaping a while back and my teeth definitely got a bit whiter, but my gums still act up sometimes. I wouldn’t say my cleanings cost less, but the appointments feel les...
RE: Toothbrushing Apps vs. DIY Brushing Charts: Which Gets Kids More Excited?
Totally agree with this. My niece got bored with the brushing app after a few days, but when she made her own chart and picked out sparkly unicorn stickers, she was actually excited to brush. Sometimes old school just wo...
RE: How soon did you get back to your routine after a tooth pulled?
Yeah, the “be gentle” advice is so vague, right? I remember just sort of hovering my toothbrush near the area for a few days, feeling like I was defusing a bomb or something. I did get a weird metallic taste for a bit, b...
