Took my 7-year-old for a checkup yesterday, and the dentist mentioned something called sealants, like protective armor for teeth. Um, sounds cool but kinda weird. Anyone done this for their kids? Worth it or nah?
We did sealants for my daughter when she was around 6 or 7, and honestly, they've been great. She used to get cavities pretty easily, even though we brushed regularly. After the sealants, no cavities so far (knock on wood...). It's quick and painless too—just a little weird feeling for them at first. I'd say it's worth it, especially if your kiddo tends to snack or has deep grooves in their teeth like mine does.
We had sealants done for both my kids around that same age, and honestly, I was skeptical at first too. But now they're teens and still cavity-free. Definitely seems worth it, especially for peace of mind...
