Vibrating toothbrushes are a game changer for me too, but only after I found one on sale—those things can get pricey. At first, I thought it’d make things worse, but the buzz actually helps with that dull ache after tightening. It’s weirdly soothing, like you said.

Warm compresses are my go-to, but I just use a cheap sock filled with regular rice. Never tried jasmine, though… does it really make a difference? I’m all about whatever works, as long as it doesn’t cost a fortune. Ice packs were too harsh for me—felt like my teeth would crack off.

Chewing gum is where I draw the line. My ortho said no way, and honestly, I don’t trust myself not to accidentally pop a bracket off. Instead, I stick to cold applesauce or yogurt when things get rough. Not glamorous, but it’s easy on the wallet and the mouth.

It’s funny how everyone finds their own little trick. Painkillers get expensive fast, so anything reusable or cheap is worth a shot in my book.

I totally get the “cold applesauce and yogurt” routine—sometimes it’s the only thing I can manage after an adjustment. The sock-rice compress is genius, by the way. Never thought of jasmine either, but if it smells good, maybe that’s half the battle? I’m with you on gum... my willpower is nonexistent when it comes to snacks, so better safe than sorry. Hang in there—it’s wild what ends up helping!

Cold applesauce is basically my go-to too—cheap, easy, and you don’t have to chew. I tried the sock-rice thing with some lavender once (because that’s what I had) and honestly, it was weirdly comforting. On gum... yeah, not even worth tempting fate with that one.

Frozen grapes were a lifesaver for me—just let them thaw a bit so they’re not rock hard. Applesauce is great, but sometimes I just wanted something less mushy. Tried chewing gum once, and yeah... instant regret. Not worth it at all.

Yeah, totally relate to the gum mistake. I thought maybe some sugar-free gum would distract me from the pain, but nope—just made everything ache more. Frozen grapes are genius though. I got kind of obsessed with popsicles for a while, especially when my teeth felt like they were buzzing after an adjustment. There’s just something about cold stuff that makes things bearable. Hang in there—it really does get easier over time, even if it feels endless right now.
