Saw an article earlier today about people using Botox injections to tone down gummy smiles. Apparently, it relaxes the muscles so your upper lip doesn't lift as much when you smile. Sounds kinda clever, but also a bit risky maybe? I dunno, injecting stuff near my mouth makes me a lil nervous, haha. Curious if anyone here has done it or knows someone who did... does it actually look natural or sorta stiff/weird?
I've actually seen a few cases of Botox used for gummy smiles, and surprisingly, the results weren't bad at all. A friend of mine got it done last year and honestly, it looked pretty natural—definitely not stiff or frozen like you'd expect from Botox sometimes. But I think a lot depends on the injector's skill level and experience. I'd definitely recommend checking out before-and-after pics from whoever you go to, because technique really matters here.
One thing I've been wondering though: how long does the effect actually last around the mouth area? Botox usually wears off in a few months when used on forehead wrinkles, but does it fade faster or slower when it's done near your lips? Seems like something you'd have to keep up regularly if you liked the results.
