Yeah, my dentist actually flagged it a while back—he said there’s mounting evidence connecting gum inflammation with increased systemic inflammation, which can impact things like atherosclerosis. I thought it sounded a bit far-fetched at first, but when I dug into some studies, the data’s pretty compelling. I track my blood pressure and cholesterol already, so now I’m way more diligent with flossing and regular cleanings. Funny how something as basic as gum care can tie into bigger health stuff...

I’ve been reading about the link between periodontal disease and cardiovascular risk, and honestly, the mechanisms make sense—chronic inflammation, bacterial translocation, all that. Still surprises me how little attention gums get compared to cholesterol or blood pressure. I’m starting to pay more attention, but I wish there were clearer guidelines for tracking oral health like there are for heart stuff.
