That weird healing phase really messes with your head, doesn’t it? I kept thinking every little ache meant something was wrong, too. I even convinced myself the implant was loose at one point (it wasn’t, thankfully). It’s so easy to spiral when you’re already anxious about dental stuff.

I totally get what you mean about the bite adjustment. I waited way too long to mention it because I didn’t want to seem paranoid, but honestly, that tiny tweak made a massive difference. Kind of wild how much your jaw notices even the smallest changes.

Have you found anything else that helps with the anxiety part? For me, distracting myself with podcasts or a good book helped on days when the discomfort was more in my head than my mouth. But there were definitely times when I wondered if I was being too cautious or not cautious enough... How do you figure out when to just ride it out versus call the dentist?

Honestly, I kind of wonder if distracting myself just ends up making me more anxious in the long run. Sometimes I feel like I need to actually pay attention to what’s going on in my mouth, otherwise I miss stuff that matters. For example, with my implant, I noticed a weird clicking noise when I chewed and almost ignored it because I figured it was just in my head. Turned out it was a minor screw issue that my dentist fixed really quickly. I guess I lean toward checking in with the dentist if anything feels off for more than a day or two—maybe I’m overly cautious, but I’d rather be safe than sorry.

That actually makes a lot of sense—sometimes I wonder if tuning out weird sensations just means I’ll miss something important. Did your dentist say what might cause the clicking? I’ve been hyper-aware of every little sound since my own implant, honestly. You’re not alone in being cautious; it’s tough to know what’s normal and what isn’t.

Same here—every tiny click or squeak has me second-guessing everything. My dentist said the clicking could just be the crown settling or maybe a bit of bone adjusting, but how am I supposed to know if it’s “normal” or if I’m about to lose the whole thing? I get that some people can just ignore these things, but I’m convinced my jaw is sending Morse code. I’d rather be the person who asks too many questions than the one who misses something serious, honestly.

Honestly, I hear you—sometimes I swear my implant’s trying to communicate with me, too. My dentist said “normal settling,” but that didn’t stop me from googling every click for weeks. I’d rather annoy my dentist with questions than risk ignoring something weird. Better safe than toothless, right?
