Dentures causing painful spots - anyone else dealing with this?

Saw a news segment yesterday about some new gel pads they're testing to ease denture discomfort. Um, sounds promising but I'm skeptical. Has anyone tried something similar or heard about this? Curious if it's actually helpful or just another gimmick...

I saw something similar a while back and wondered the same thing. My dentist gave me a sample of some cushiony adhesive strips to try when I first got my dentures. Honestly, they did help a bit with the sore spots, but they felt kinda bulky and weird at first. Maybe these gel pads are thinner or more comfortable? I'd definitely be interested in trying them if they become available... Denture pain is no joke, especially in the beginning.
