You’re definitely not alone in the forgetful club—I’ve left my dentures soaking in the cup overnight more times than I care to admit. Sometimes I wonder if they’re planning their own escape in there. But honestly, I agree with you about consistency over perfection. I’ve found that even if I miss a step here and there, as long as I get back on track, things don’t go off the rails. The weird smells are annoying, but sometimes it’s just the universe’s way of reminding us to give them a proper scrub. We’re all just muddling through—no shame in that.

Honestly, I think the universe just has it out for denture wearers sometimes. I’ve definitely woken up to that weird, stale smell and immediately regretted skipping a scrub the night before. It’s like the dentures are sending a passive-aggressive reminder. I try to keep a backup toothbrush and some cleaner by the sink so it’s harder to forget, but even then, life happens. As long as I’m not growing a science experiment in my cup, I figure I’m doing alright...

I get where you’re coming from, but I’ve learned the hard way that even if it’s not a full-on science experiment, things can go south pretty quick. I used to think a quick rinse was enough if I was tired, but after a couple of sore spots and some weird tastes, I started making it more of a habit. It’s annoying, but I swear my mornings are just a bit less gross if I stick to it. Maybe it’s just me being paranoid, but I’d rather not risk it.

I used to think the same—if it didn’t smell funky, it was probably fine. But honestly, after a couple times where my dentures tasted off (and once when I got a sore spot that took forever to heal), I started rinsing and soaking them more regularly. Doesn’t have to be fancy or expensive either. I just use the store brand tablets and a cheap cup. It’s not perfect, but it saves me from having to buy new ones sooner than I’d like... and that’s motivation enough for me.

That’s honestly how I started too—if it looked and smelled okay, I didn’t think twice. But after one rough patch with some irritation, I realized regular soaking made a difference. Store brand stuff works just as well for me. Funny how a little routine saves a lot of hassle…
