Honestly, I get where you’re coming from. When I first got mine, I was super worried about all the germs too—especially after reading a couple horror stories online (probably a mistake). I kept thinking, what if I miss a spot cleaning them? Or if something gross gets in the cup overnight?

The denture case with a lid is a smart move. I went through the same thing—at first I just used a mug, but then started picturing all the dust and random stuff floating around in the bathroom. The case made it easier to just drop them in and not stress so much.

I don’t think you’re overthinking it, honestly. It’s new, it’s in your mouth all day, and it’s totally normal to want it as clean as possible. You’ll probably relax a bit once you get into a routine and see nothing bad happens. Do you use those cleaning tablets or just soap and water? I always wonder if I’m doing enough...

That’s a good question. I’ve actually read that using just soap and water can miss some of the biofilm that builds up, even if you scrub. The tablets do help break down stuff you can’t see, but I sometimes wonder if they’re overkill for daily use. Have you noticed any difference in how your dentures feel or smell depending on which method you use? Also, do you brush them before soaking, or just rely on the soak?

I totally get where you’re coming from—those tablets can get pricey if you use them every day. What I usually do is brush my dentures with a bit of mild soap and water first, just to get the surface stuff off. Then, maybe twice a week, I’ll use a tablet soak for a deeper clean. I’ve noticed they feel smoother after the soak, but honestly, if I skip it for a few days, I don’t really notice a huge difference unless I’ve eaten something strong-smelling. It’s all about finding that balance between feeling clean and not overcomplicating things (or spending too much).

Totally relate to this. My routine is more “oops, forgot again” than anything else, honestly.

– Mild soap and water? Hadn’t tried that—sounds way easier than hunting for those tiny brushes I always lose.
– Tablets: I aim for once a week... but let’s be real, sometimes it’s more like whenever my dentures start smelling like garlic bread.
– Haven’t noticed any disasters from skipping days, so maybe I’m getting away with it?

Guess it’s less about perfection and more about not grossing myself out.

I totally get the “oops, forgot again” vibe—sometimes life just gets in the way. I used to be all about the fancy denture brushes and those little cleaning tablets, but honestly, I’ve lost more brushes than I can count. Mild soap and water is actually a solid backup. I started using a soft toothbrush with a dab of dish soap when I couldn’t find my “official” supplies, and my dentures seemed just fine. No weird tastes or anything.

About the tablets... yeah, I always *mean* to use them every week, but it turns into “when I remember” or when things start smelling off. Haven’t had any major issues either, but I do notice they feel fresher after a soak. Maybe it’s psychological, but whatever works, right?

I guess as long as you’re not seeing buildup or getting sore spots, you’re probably doing alright. Perfection’s overrated. If you ever find a way to keep track of those tiny brushes though, let me know—I swear they vanish into thin air.
