Anyone dealt with wobbly teeth? What worked for you?

That wobbly feeling is the worst, isn’t it? I kept poking at my teeth after my first adjustment, convinced they were about to fall out. My ortho said it’s normal, but I still worried nonstop. Saltwater rinses stung for me too—switched to a kids’ alcohol-free rinse and that helped a lot. It’s wild how something that works for one person can be too much for someone else. I guess our mouths are just picky sometimes.

Yeah, that “my teeth are about to bail” feeling is so real. I kept doing the tongue test—pushing on them just to check if they’d move (they did, and it freaked me out every time). My ortho also gave the “totally normal” speech, but I still avoided apples for weeks. Anyone else find that even soft bread felt like a risk? I tried the saltwater rinse once and immediately regretted it, so I just stuck to gentle brushing and hoped for the best. Has anyone had their wobbly teeth actually get sore, like more than just pressure?

I always hear people say saltwater rinses help, but honestly, they made my mouth feel even more sensitive. I kinda stuck with the gentle brushing too, but I did try switching to a super soft toothbrush and it made a difference. My teeth definitely got sore sometimes, not just pressure—like a dull ache that lasted a couple days after adjustments. I actually found eating cold yogurt helped more than anything warm. Maybe it’s just me, but warm drinks seemed to make things throb more.

I totally get what you mean about saltwater rinses—people swear by them, but they just made my gums feel raw when my teeth were wobbly. The super soft toothbrush was a game changer for me too. I actually found that sucking on ice chips helped dull the ache after adjustments, more than any warm drink ever did. Warm stuff always made everything feel extra tender, so you’re not alone there. Cold yogurt’s a great idea... I might try that next time the soreness kicks in.

I’ve had a similar experience with saltwater rinses—everyone recommended them, but honestly, they just made my gums sting and didn’t help much with the soreness. I switched to a sensitive toothpaste and that seemed to make brushing less of a chore. Cold things like smoothies or even just holding a cold spoon against my gums helped more than anything warm, which always made the pain flare up for me too. Never thought of cold yogurt, but now I’m curious if that would be gentler than ice chips.
