Leaving it alone worked for my daughter too—though I was tempted to try the old “apple trick” my mom swore by. She just wiggled at it for days, then one morning it was gone and she acted like she’d lost a diamond. I swear, the drama beforehand was way worse than the tooth actually coming out. Not sure if patience or her stubbornness won... probably both.

Leaving it alone worked for my kids too, even though I remember my own parents doing everything from apples to tying floss around the tooth (which always sounded scarier than it was). Honestly, the anticipation seems to be worse than the tooth actually coming out. My youngest wiggled hers for a week, then it popped out while she was eating toast—she was more surprised than anything.

I’ve noticed if you force it before it’s really ready, it just ends up bleeding more and freaks them out. Patience isn’t easy, especially when you’re tired of hearing about “the loose tooth” every five minutes... but letting nature do its thing seems to be the least stressful way. And yeah, the drama is always bigger than the event itself. Kids are wild.

I get where you’re coming from, but sometimes a little help isn’t the end of the world. My niece had one that was barely hanging on for days—she wouldn’t eat on that side, and it honestly started looking a bit sore. We tried the old apple trick (super gently), and it came out clean with hardly any fuss or blood. Guess it depends on the kid and how much it’s bothering them? Some kids just want it gone already.
