Did your teeth ever feel sore after eating stuff like apples or chips? I swear crunchy food made mine feel way looser for a bit...

Haha, totally relate to the apple situation—bit into one and legit thought my front tooth was about to start a new life on its own. Crunchy stuff always made my teeth ache for a while too, but then they'd settle back down. Did you ever try switching to softer foods for a bit, or did you just power through?

I know exactly what you mean—crunchy stuff always made me a little nervous, especially after my teeth started feeling wobbly. There was a phase where I stuck to soups and mashed potatoes for a while, just to give my mouth a break. It helped a bit, but honestly, sometimes I’d just get stubborn and eat the chips anyway... then regret it for a few hours. These days I try to listen to my teeth more, but it’s not always easy when you’re craving something crunchy.

My kid went through a phase like that when his baby teeth started getting loose. He’d get really anxious about biting into anything crunchy, so we stuck to softer foods for a bit—lots of oatmeal and scrambled eggs. It helped, but honestly, he’d sneak crackers sometimes and then complain his tooth felt “wiggly” all afternoon. I do think giving the mouth a rest makes a difference, but it’s tough to resist those cravings... especially for little ones. We just tried to keep things low-key and let him decide what felt okay.

We went through a similar thing with my daughter—she was so nervous about anything even a little crunchy, and honestly, I was too. I kept worrying she’d bite down wrong and end up in pain or accidentally swallow the tooth. Sticking to soft foods made life easier for her, but I’d get anxious every time she reached for an apple. I totally get the cracker sneaking... kids just want what they want. Letting them guide what feels okay seems smart, though I always hovered a bit more than necessary, just in case.

Letting kids decide what they're comfortable with makes sense, but honestly, I just couldn't relax about it. When my nephew had a loose tooth, my sister tried the "let him choose" route, and he ended up biting into a carrot—cue tears and a bloody mess. After that, we stuck to soft stuff until the tooth was really hanging by a thread. Maybe I'm overcautious, but I'd rather deal with a few days of bland food than a panicked kid and a surprise tooth loss at dinner.
