- That thing about reassurance really rings true.

sometimes just seeing that everything’s still attached calms them down way faster than any distraction.
I remember being convinced my tooth was going to fall out after a filling as a kid, and a quick peek in the mirror made all the difference.
- Tech is a cool idea, hadn’t thought of using selfies. It’s wild how much just seeing yourself (even with a numb face) can make things less freaky.
- Agree that there’s no universal fix. Some days nothing works except waiting it out and maybe laughing about it later.
- Appreciate how you mentioned having options—never hurts to have a backup plan when panic sets in.

That mirror trick definitely helped me too after I got a crown—felt sure the whole thing was going to pop off every time I ate for weeks. Selfies are smart, but I’m cheap and just use my phone’s camera app, ha. Curious if anyone’s found any low-cost ways to calm dental nerves, especially when you can’t just call the dentist right away? Sometimes it feels like all the “comfort” stuff out there costs a fortune.

I totally get that anxiety—my brain always jumps straight to “what if it falls out right now?” every time I bite into something crunchy. For calming nerves, honestly, I’ve found that just sitting and focusing on slow breathing helps a bit... sounds cheesy, but it’s free and you can do it anywhere. I’m not big on fancy gadgets either. Sometimes distracting myself with a podcast or dumb YouTube videos makes the wait for a call-back less stressful. It’s wild how much your mind can spiral, though—I wish there was a cheap magic fix for that.

Yeah, the “what if it falls out” spiral is all too real. I swear, the second a molar feels even a little loose, my brain’s already picturing dentures by next week. Breathing exercises help me too, but sometimes I just need to zone out with a dumb video or scroll memes until the anxiety passes. Honestly, I wish there was a quick fix—like, can someone invent dental superglue already? Until then, it’s just waiting for that call-back and hoping for the best.

Man, dental superglue would make a killing. Last time I had a wobbly tooth, I spent half the night poking it with my tongue and convincing myself it was about to drop out mid-Zoom call. Breathing helps, but honestly, I just want a fast-forward button for dental anxiety days.
