I kinda get what you mean about salt water being gentler, but honestly, I’ve had more luck with ice packs when my gums were really swollen after a wire change. The salt rinse felt nice for a bit, but cold packs actually brought the swelling down faster for me. Maybe it’s just me, but sometimes the salt would sting if I had any tiny cuts. Anyone else find ice works better, or am I just weird like that?
