"Those tiny seeds felt like sandpaper on my gums. Lesson learned the painful way, haha."

Ugh, I feel this so much... I made a similar mistake with raspberries after mine. They seemed harmless enough, soft and juicy—but nope, those sneaky seeds are brutal. Definitely agree on mangoes though; they're gentle and soothing, practically nature's own recovery snack. Another winner for me was ripe bananas blended with almond milk—super smooth, tasty, and zero irritation. Hang in there, it gets better pretty quickly!

Totally agree on bananas being a lifesaver—blended smoothies were my go-to too. Weirdly enough, I thought oatmeal would be perfect, but even that felt scratchy at first.

Exactly! Even foods you think are safe can surprise you. Did anyone else find unexpected relief from something random? For me, it was mashed sweet potatoes—never thought I'd enjoy baby food texture so much, haha.

Totally get the sweet potato thing, it was a surprise winner for my kid too. Funny how surgery can completely flip your food preferences upside down... My daughter had a similar experience with scrambled eggs—something she usually turned her nose up at suddenly became her favorite comfort food. We also tried yogurt thinking it'd be gentle, but even that was a bit too tangy and irritated her gums at first. Did anyone else notice temperature making a big difference? Room temp or slightly warm foods seemed easier than anything straight out of the fridge. Ice packs were great externally, but cold foods inside the mouth—not so much.

Yeah, temperature definitely mattered for me too. Warm mashed potatoes were my go-to, but cold applesauce felt weirdly uncomfortable. Did anyone else find soups tricky? Thought they'd be perfect, but some broths actually stung a bit... maybe too salty or acidic?

Interesting you mention soups—I actually found them pretty soothing, especially creamy ones like potato leek or butternut squash. Maybe it's the broth-based ones causing trouble? Tomato-based soups definitely felt too acidic for me, but creamier soups seemed gentler overall. Did you try blending veggies into a mild puree instead? Might be worth experimenting with something less salty or acidic... everyone's mouth heals differently, so it's all trial and error at first.
