I've been noticing my teeth looking kinda dull lately, probably too much coffee lol. I'm not really into chemical treatments or expensive dentist visits right now, so wondering if anyone's had luck with natural home remedies or DIY stuff? Heard about baking soda and coconut oil pulling but um...do they actually work or is it just hype?

I've done both baking soda and coconut oil pulling at different points, and here's my take—baking soda actually did work pretty noticeably for me. I used to drink a ton of tea (like multiple mugs daily), and my teeth were definitely showing it. I started brushing gently with baking soda maybe twice a week, and after about three weeks, I could see a visible difference. Just be careful not to overdo it though, since baking soda can be abrasive if you brush too hard or too often.

Coconut oil pulling... eh, personally didn't see much difference whitening-wise. It felt nice and clean afterwards, but I think that's more about oral hygiene than actual whitening? A friend swears by it though, so maybe it's one of those things that varies from person to person.

If you're hesitant about baking soda alone, mixing it with a bit of toothpaste helps tone down the weird salty taste. And cutting back slightly on coffee or rinsing your mouth right after drinking might help slow the staining down a bit too.

I've tried coconut oil pulling too, mostly because my sister kept raving about it. Honestly, didn't notice much whitening either, but my mouth did feel oddly fresh afterward... kinda like I'd just flossed super thoroughly. Maybe it's more of a hygiene thing than whitening?

I've had pretty similar experiences with coconut oil pulling, tbh. It definitely felt cleaner afterward, but I didn't notice a huge difference in whitening either. One thing that did help me a bit was brushing occasionally with baking soda—I know it's kinda old-school, but it seemed to gently lift some stains without feeling harsh. Maybe worth a shot if you're looking for something natural and budget-friendly? Just don't overdo it...once or twice a week tops seems safest.

I've actually wondered about baking soda brushing too, but wasn't sure if it'd be too abrasive. Good to hear it worked gently for you—I might give it a cautious try. Coconut oil pulling felt nice and refreshing, but yeah, didn't see much whitening either. Has anyone tried activated charcoal? I've seen it pop up everywhere lately, but part of me worries it'll be messy or stain my sink or something, lol. I'm definitely on a tight budget, so natural remedies are appealing...just don't wanna accidentally damage my enamel or anything. Glad you mentioned only doing baking soda once or twice a week, makes sense to keep things gentle. Anyway, appreciate you sharing your experience—makes me feel better knowing I'm not the only one unsure about these DIY methods!
