Have you ever tried those custom trays from the dentist? They’re not cheap, but I found them way less fiddly than strips or pens.

I’ve actually been curious about those trays for a while, especially since strips just don’t sit right on my teeth. Mine aren’t super crooked, but there’s enough overlap in a couple spots that the strips always seem to miss those areas. Did you notice a big difference in how even the whitening was with the trays, compared to strips? Also, did you get any sensitivity? That’s the main thing I worry about—my teeth are already kind of sensitive from braces in the past, and I’ve heard some people say the stronger gels can make it worse.

Funny thing, the only time I tried strips, I ended up with bright white patches right in the middle and then these weird yellow edges where the strip didn’t quite reach. Looked like I’d been chewing on a highlighter... Not ideal. I know what you mean about patchiness though—it’s so unpredictable.

You mentioned surface stains—were yours from coffee or tea, or something else? I’m a big tea drinker, and honestly, sometimes it feels like nothing short of sandblasting is going to get those stains off. Did the trays help with that, or was it more just general whitening?

I’ve been debating whether it’s worth shelling out for the trays, especially since insurance definitely won’t cover it. How long did your results last? I’m just wondering if it’s a “do it every few months” kind of thing, or if it actually sticks around for a while.
