I grabbed one of those whitening pens on a whim last week (you know, impulse buy at the checkout line 🙄). Anyway, I was bored and started googling, and apparently some of these pens use hydrogen peroxide, while others use carbamide peroxide. Turns out, carbamide peroxide breaks down into hydrogen peroxide plus urea (yep, the stuff in pee 😅). Kind of weirded me out a bit. Anyone else stumble across random facts like this when researching products?

I get why that might seem a bit off-putting at first, but honestly, urea is pretty common in skincare and dental products. It's actually great at moisturizing and softening tissues, so it's not as weird as it sounds. I stumbled across this when researching moisturizers for sensitive skin—felt strange at first, but turns out it's totally safe and effective. Still, I get the initial hesitation... chemistry can be oddly unsettling sometimes.
