RE: Trying to decide if implant dentures are worth it - what swayed you?
Reading your reply really eased my nerves a bit, actually. I’m in such a similar boat - social stuff is hard enough without worrying about whether my teeth are going to cooperate. I’ve been using adhesives for years, and...
RE: Keeping your mouth healthy after a root canal – what worked for you?
Those random zaps really threw me off, too. I kept second-guessing whether something was wrong, but my dentist said the same - nerves just take their sweet time settling down. It’s honestly a relief to hear that it’s not...
RE: Coping with losing a tooth: distraction or talking it out?
Definitely. My daughter actually got more worried the more I tried to reassure her with details. Sometimes just saying, “It’s normal, and we’ll get through it together,” seemed to work better than over-explaining. Kids p...
RE: Struggling to keep cavities away - what’s actually working for you?
Snacking after dinner is my weakness, too. I always thought brushing right after would cancel out the damage, but apparently not... My dentist mentioned the same thing about mouthwash - unless it’s the special stuff, it’...
RE: Weirdest things that actually help with braces pain
I know exactly what you mean about overdoing the jaw massage. The first time I tried it after my adjustment, I thought maybe if I just kept rubbing, it’d help more - but I woke up the next morning and could barely open m...
RE: Dealing with kids’ chipped teeth - what actually works?
I know everyone says kids bounce back, but I still get nervous about leaving even a small chip alone. My niece had a tiny chip that seemed fine, but months later she needed a little bonding work because it started bother...
RE: Making recovery from jaw surgery less miserable - what actually helped?
That tingling sensation made me super anxious, too - my mind immediately jumped to some kind of reaction. I kept checking my lips every five minutes. The humidifier thing is so real... I’d forget to refill it all the tim...
RE: Weirdest pain after getting braces tightened - normal or not?
I totally get the comfort in hearing others have the same weird symptoms, but honestly, I still worry a bit when pain pops up somewhere unexpected. Like, pressure in my ears or even jaw aches that last longer than I thou...
RE: Which one actually gets your teeth cleaner: blasting with water or good ol’ string floss?
I totally relate to the anxiety about bleeding gums - my first time using string floss, I was convinced I’d done something wrong because there was a little blood. Turns out, my dentist said it’s actually pretty common if...
RE: That first week after wisdom teeth removal… did anyone else swear by ice packs?
I actually stuck with ice packs the whole time because I was so nervous about making anything worse. Heat sounded nice, but I kept worrying it might cause more swelling? Maybe I was just being overly cautious, but the co...
RE: Which one actually gets your teeth cleaner: blasting with water or good ol’ string floss?
I totally relate to what you’re saying about crowns and string floss. I have a couple of crowns myself and the string always seemed to get stuck, which honestly just made me dread flossing altogether. I switched to a wat...
RE: Ever heard of onlays instead of crowns after a root canal?
I can totally relate to being nervous about biting into crunchy stuff after an onlay. I had mine done a few months ago, and honestly, the first couple weeks were rough - lots of soreness and random twinges. It did settle...
RE: How Long Did Your Teeth Whitening Appointment Actually Take?
I’ve been super nervous about getting my teeth whitened, so I spent way too much time reading reviews and asking friends what their appointments were like. The timing thing kind of stressed me out - like, does longer mea...
