I was back to my normal stuff after about 10 days, though I stuck with softer foods for almost two weeks. The tingling freaked me out too, but it faded. Crunchy food made me nervous—I waited till the third week, just to be safe. Dry socket stories really do get in your head...

That dry socket paranoia is so real. I remember being obsessed with not using a straw or even swishing water too hard. I was back to work after about a week, but honestly took it easy with food for almost three weeks, just like you. The tingling and weird sensations had me second-guessing every little twinge—thought for sure I was headed for trouble, but it all settled down eventually.

Did your dentist give you any specific timeline for getting back to normal eating? Mine was super cautious and basically said, "If it hurts, don't do it," which is helpful but also kind of vague. Curious if anyone’s dentist gave more concrete advice, or is it always just a waiting game with this stuff?

Honestly, my dentist was the same—lots of “listen to your body,” which sounds wise but is also stressful when you’re hyper-aware of every sensation. Did anyone actually get a real timeframe for crunchy or chewy foods? I feel like it’s always a guessing game.

Yeah, I never got a straight answer either. My oral surgeon just said “about a week,” but honestly, I waited closer to two before risking anything crunchy. I was so paranoid about messing up the healing. It’s super annoying trying to judge when you’re “ready,” especially when every twinge feels suspicious.

Yeah, my dentist was super vague too—just said “soft foods for a while.” I ended up living off mashed potatoes and yogurt for like ten days. Every time I craved chips, my brain was like, “Do you want a dry socket? Didn’t think so.”
