"Did anyone else notice their bite felt different for a while? Mine felt slightly misaligned, and chewing felt awkward for at least a week or two."

Yep, totally normal. Teeth are drama queens—they hate change and love to complain about it. 😂 After wisdom teeth removal, your bite can feel off because the surrounding teeth shift slightly to adjust to the new space. Usually settles down after a few weeks, but sticking with softer foods definitely helps ease the transition. Glad you're feeling better now!

I get what you're saying, but I'm not sure teeth actually shift that quickly after wisdom teeth removal. From what my dentist explained, the awkward bite feeling usually comes from swelling and inflammation around the extraction site. Basically, your jaw muscles and gums are adjusting to the trauma, so chewing feels weird for a bit. Mine felt off for about two weeks, then gradually improved as the swelling went down. Did your dentist mention anything about teeth shifting specifically? Curious now...

My dentist explained it similarly, but I do think teeth can shift a bit faster than we realize—especially if there's suddenly extra space. When I had mine out, my bite felt super weird for about three weeks. At first, I thought it was just swelling, but even after that went down, things still felt slightly off. Eventually, everything settled back into place on its own. Bodies are pretty good at adjusting, thankfully...just takes patience sometimes.

I had something similar happen after mine were removed. My bite felt off for a good month or so, and I kept wondering if it was just in my head or if things were actually shifting around. Eventually, it sorted itself out, but it made me curious—do you think age plays a role in how quickly teeth shift or settle back into place? Like maybe younger people's teeth adjust faster than adults'? Just wondering if anyone else noticed differences based on age...

I wondered about that too, but honestly, I think it's more about individual healing than age. Had mine out in my late 20s, and it took me around 6 weeks before things felt totally normal again. My younger brother had his removed at 18 and was back to chomping burgers comfortably in like two weeks... lucky guy. But then again, he's always healed faster than me with everything, so who knows? Maybe genetics or just luck plays a bigger role than age alone.
