RE: Coping with losing a tooth: distraction or talking it out?
When my daughter lost her first tooth, she was excited, but I was a nervous wreck. I kept second-guessing if I’d brushed her teeth enough or missed something at checkups. It’s weird how something so normal can feel like ...
RE: Keeping your mouth healthy after a root canal – what worked for you?
Weirdly enough, my kiddo actually hated the water flosser at first (the noise freaked him out), but after the root canal, it was the only thing he’d tolerate near his mouth. I was super nervous about irritating his gums,...
RE: What would you do if you needed a root canal but your budget was super tight?
I totally get that. When my daughter needed a filling, we went to the dental school because we just couldn’t swing the regular prices. I was super anxious about students working on her, but honestly, seeing the instructo...
RE: When your favorite water bottle starts to smell funky
That’s exactly what drives me nuts about these bottles. My kid’s water bottle got this odd sour smell after we put juice in it once, and no amount of scrubbing seemed to help. I get so anxious about germs, especially sin...
RE: Getting comfortable with a big smile even when your gums show
It’s comforting to know I’m not the only one who worries about this kind of stuff. My daughter has a noticeable gap when she smiles, and I catch myself feeling anxious for her, even though she’s just being a kid and does...
RE: How I pack and care for my retainer when traveling - step by step
I totally relate to the panic over leaving the retainer case somewhere - I swear, I check my kid’s bag three times before we leave any hotel. The AirTag idea is genius, though. We haven’t tried the UV pen yet because I’m...
RE: Saw a story about sinus lifts getting more common - anyone else nervous?
That’s exactly how it felt when my kid had his done. Every little twinge or weird feeling, I’d worry something was wrong. I kept checking for swelling, bruising, anything unusual... It’s honestly such a relief to hear ot...
RE: Why is post-extraction care so confusing?
This is exactly what we ran into with my daughter’s extraction. I kept reading “just stick to soft foods” everywhere, but honestly, it felt way too vague. We tried the mashed potatoes too, thinking it’d be gentle, but sh...
RE: Keeping pain at bay after wisdom tooth extraction: worth the fuss?
That syringe stressed me out too. My kid just had their wisdom teeth out and I swear, I hovered every night, checking if they were sleeping upright enough or accidentally rolled onto the “wrong” side. Google became my be...
RE: How much is too much when it comes to fluoride rinse?
I totally relate to that uneasy feeling - sometimes it feels like there’s no “perfect” amount, just a lot of guessing. My kid’s dentist warned us about fluorosis too, especially for little ones who might swallow toothpas...
RE: Coping With That Annoying Dry Socket Pain After Tooth Extraction
That jaw ache that goes up to the ear - my kid had that after his extraction and it freaked me out. I kept worrying it was something serious, but the dentist said it can be normal, especially with the bigger teeth. Appar...
RE: Which is rougher: getting a crown or recovering from a root canal?
If only, right? My kiddo had to go through both, and honestly, I was way more anxious about the root canal. The recovery just dragged on, and I felt so helpless watching her try to eat soup for days. The crown appointmen...
RE: KEEPING MY TOOTHBRUSH ACTUALLY CLEAN...AM I OVERTHINKING THIS?
This is exactly why I get a little stressed about my kid’s toothbrush, to be honest. He’s got asthma and his immune system isn’t the greatest, so I’m always worrying about germs more than most people probably do. I used ...
RE: Electric Toothbrushes vs. Manual for Kids: Which Actually Works Better?
I totally get where you’re coming from, but I have to admit, I’m still not convinced electric brushes are always better for kids. My son’s dentist pushed for it, too, but honestly, he just found the buzzing really weird ...
