Okay, so I just had my wisdom tooth out last week, and guess what...dry socket. Ugh. Honestly, it's been pretty miserable. Dentist recommended gauze packs soaked in some medicated stuff, but my grandma swears by tea bags (something about tannins?). And then my coworker jumped in saying clove oil was the ONLY thing that worked for her.

Now I'm stuck juggling these weird home remedies while popping ibuprofen like candy. Um, I'm curious if anyone else has tried these? I kinda feel like a test subject at this point, lol.

Figured I'd toss up a quick poll to see what everyone's go-to is for dealing with dry socket pain:

What's your preferred remedy?
- Gauze pack from dentist
- Tea bags (grandma-approved)
- Clove oil
- Something else entirely (tell me below)

Honestly leaning toward tea bags tonight because gauze is getting annoying and clove oil tastes...interesting. Just really hoping this clears up soon because eating soup every day is seriously getting old.

Tea bags saved me when I went through this—grandma was onto something. Gauze felt bulky and clove oil...yeah, no thanks. Stick with tea bags, the tannins really help calm things down. Hang in there!

Tea bags were my saving grace too—gauze always made me feel like I was chewing on a pillow, and clove oil tasted like Christmas gone wrong. Weirdly enough, a friend swore by peppermint tea bags instead of regular black tea. Said it felt soothing and tasted way better. Never tried it myself, but now I'm curious if anyone else has given peppermint tea a shot for dry socket? Seems kinda minty fresh for something dental-related...
