Did you have any weird lingering pain or sensitivity after? I’m super nervous about the whole “healing” part dragging on. Also, did your face swell up a ton? I keep picturing myself with a chipmunk cheek for a week...

I was nervous about swelling too, but honestly it wasn’t that bad for me - just a little puffy for a couple days, nothing crazy. Pain was pretty mild, mostly just sore. Ibuprofen helped and I didn’t need anything stronger. The healing part dragged a bit longer than I hoped, but it wasn’t unbearable. Biggest hassle was just being careful with what I ate so I wouldn’t mess up the stitches.

Interesting, I had almost the opposite experience - my swelling was pretty noticeable for about a week, and I looked like a chipmunk for a few days. The pain wasn’t terrible though, just annoying more than anything. I do remember being paranoid about eating, too... mashed potatoes and yogurt became my best friends. Did you have any weird numbness after? Mine lingered for ages, which freaked me out a bit.

That numbness thing really messed with my head, too. Mine lasted about two weeks, and I kept poking at my lip to see if it was “back to normal” yet. It made me super anxious, especially since my dentist kind of brushed it off. Did your dentist say anything about how long it might last? I was so worried I’d done something wrong by eating too soon or talking too much. The swelling was actually less for me, but the tingling freaked me out way more than the chipmunk cheeks.

That tingling is the worst, right? Mine lingered for over a week - felt like my chin was asleep all the time. My dentist said it could take a while but didn’t really give a clear answer either. Super frustrating. I kept thinking I messed up by drinking something too hot.
