For me, the sensitivity did get better, but it took a few weeks. The first week or two, even lukewarm soup felt like a challenge. I started with stuff like mashed potatoes and scrambled eggs, then slowly added things with more texture. Eventually I could handle toast again, which felt like a win. Have you tried using a silicone spoon for cold foods? It helped me a bit with that weird zing on my teeth. Curious if anyone else found little hacks to make eating less miserable?

Man, that first bite of toast after weeks of mushy food is weirdly satisfying, right? I remember trying to eat a banana and even that felt like chewing gravel. I never tried the silicone spoon trick, but I did go through a phase of using a baby toothbrush to get around the sensitivity—felt a little silly, but hey, whatever works. Cold stuff was brutal for me, so I stuck with room temp everything for a while. It’s wild how you start celebrating the tiniest food victories.

Yeah, I totally get what you mean about celebrating tiny wins. I’m honestly still nervous about even trying toast—my teeth feel like they’ll snap if I bite anything harder than yogurt. The baby toothbrush idea sounds smart, actually. I keep worrying I’m overreacting, but maybe this is just how it goes for everyone...

Toast felt like a dare to me for weeks. I was convinced my teeth would just... shatter? But honestly, it’s pretty normal to feel that way at first. I stuck to mashed potatoes and soup for a while, and even then I’d freak out if something touched the brackets wrong. The baby toothbrush is a lifesaver—no shame in being gentle. You’re definitely not overreacting. It gets easier, but those first few days are rough for almost everyone, from what I’ve heard and lived through.

Those first few days, I swear every crunchy sound made me jump. I remember thinking, “Is this what eating is now?” But gentle foods really helped. Did you notice any tricks that made brushing less scary, or was it just trial and error for you?
