Been reading some stuff online about how gum issues might mess with heart health. Got me wondering—do you guys think flossing regularly or using mouthwash is more effective at keeping gums (and maybe hearts?) healthy? Curious what everyone else does...

Honestly, flossing's probably the winner here. Mouthwash feels nice and fresh, sure... but flossing actually gets in there and scrapes away the gunk between your teeth that messes with gums. My dentist once joked that flossing is like cardio for your gums—guess she wasn't kidding about the heart connection after all, lol. Mouthwash seems more like a bonus round than the main event, imo.

Haha, that's gold. Honestly though, you're spot-on about flossing being the MVP. Mouthwash is kinda like spraying air freshener instead of taking out the trash... smells better, but doesn't fix the root issue. Plus, ever since I started flossing regularly, my dentist appointments got way less judgey—no more awkward "have you been flossing?" interrogations. Totally underrated life hack.

Haha, I get the flossing hype, but honestly, mouthwash isn't totally useless. A few years back, I had a stubborn gum inflammation issue—even though I flossed religiously—and my dentist recommended an antibacterial rinse. It actually cleared things up pretty quickly. So yeah, flossing is key, but sometimes mouthwash can tackle stuff floss alone can't quite reach... just depends on your situation, I guess.

I see your point about mouthwash—it can definitely help with inflammation. But honestly, from my own experience, flossing regularly has made the biggest difference long-term. Years ago, I had recurring gum issues, and my dentist explained how bacteria buildup could affect heart health. Since I got serious about flossing daily (and occasional mouthwash), my gums have been healthier and no more inflammation flare-ups. Mouthwash is helpful, sure, but flossing consistently is probably your best bet for overall gum and heart health.
