The whole “laser vs. traditional” thing tripped me up too—my doc made it sound like lasers were the future, but I couldn’t find much solid info on why it was worth double the cash. I get what you mean about recovery times being all over the place online. For me, seeing actual before/after pics (not just the Instagram-perfect ones) helped a ton, but yeah... I wish more dentists broke down the costs and pros/cons without all the smoke and mirrors. Insurance not helping just adds insult to injury, honestly.
