Eating with aligners: taking them out every meal vs. snacking less

I totally get what you mean about skipping snacks just to avoid the whole routine. I’ve definitely been tempted to just leave them out during a lazy afternoon, but honestly, the cost freaks me out—like, if I mess up and need replacements, that’s not exactly cheap. I do miss random coffee breaks too... sometimes I’ll just wait until I can have a proper meal instead of going through all the brushing and rinsing again. It’s annoying but I’m too anxious about messing up my investment, if that makes sense.

Same here, honestly. I keep thinking, what if I accidentally throw them out with a napkin or something? I’ve started skipping snacks too, but man, I miss just grabbing a handful of chips without overthinking it. Does anyone else feel like they’re suddenly super aware of every crumb?

I totally get where you’re coming from. That fear of accidentally tossing them out is real—I’ve had a couple of close calls myself, especially when I was in a rush at work. It’s like suddenly every snack becomes this whole production. But honestly, being more aware of what I’m eating hasn’t been all bad for me. I’ve noticed I’m snacking less on junk and my teeth feel cleaner. Still, I do miss just mindlessly munching sometimes. It’s a weird adjustment, but you’re not alone in feeling hyper-aware of every little crumb.

Totally relate to that. I used to keep a stash of chips at my desk, but now I just skip it because I can't be bothered with all the aligner drama. On the bright side, my dentist was shocked at my last cleaning—less plaque than ever. Still miss popcorn, though...

Yeah, I get what you mean about the snacking hassle. I used to graze all day, but now with aligners, it’s just not worth the trouble. On the plus side, my teeth do feel cleaner. Still, giving up crunchy stuff like popcorn is rough...
