Got my dentures fitted about two weeks ago and honestly, my gums are just miserable. I mean, I expected some discomfort at first, but this is getting ridiculous. Eating anything remotely solid feels like torture, and even talking too much makes them ache. I've tried rinsing with warm salt water (my grandma swears by it, lol), and I've been using some numbing gel from the pharmacy, but neither seems to help much.

I'm wondering if maybe they're not fitting right or if this is just something everyone goes through at first? I'm kinda hesitant to go back to the dentist already because I don't wanna seem like I'm complaining too soon, you know? But seriously, how long does this usually last? Any home remedies or tricks that actually work would be awesome.

Ugh, sorry you're dealing with thatβ€”sounds rough. From what I've heard from family who've had dentures, two weeks is still pretty early days, but honestly if the pain's that bad, you might wanna get the fit checked again. My aunt had similar issues at first, and it turned out hers needed a slight adjustment to ease pressure points. Have you tried sticking to softer foods for a bit longer to give your gums a break? Maybe smoothies or soups could help take the edge off for now...
