I totally get what you mean about the “denture roulette”—some days I feel like I’ve got a solid grip, other days it’s like my mouth just refuses to cooperate. I’m curious, have you noticed any difference depending on what kind of adhesive you use? I bounce between pads and creams, but haven’t really figured out which is more reliable. Also, does anyone else find that temperature (like hot drinks) messes with the hold? Sometimes it seems like coffee just undoes all my careful prep...

Pads vs. creams—I’ve seen a lot of folks swear by one or the other, but honestly, I think it’s more about your fit than the adhesive itself. If the denture’s not snug, even the “strongest” cream won’t make it foolproof. Hot drinks definitely loosen things up, but I’d argue that’s more about how the adhesive reacts to moisture than just temperature. Personally, I’ve had better luck with creams, but only after making sure my denture fits just right. If you’re still struggling, maybe it’s worth checking if your fit needs a tweak instead of swapping adhesives again.

I’ve actually been going back and forth between pads and creams for months, and honestly, neither felt right until my dentist adjusted the fit. Before that, I’d end up with half a sandwich stuck under the plate by lunchtime. Creams work better for me now, but I still get nervous about hot soup days... Anyone else feel like coffee is the ultimate adhesive test?

Hot drinks are a real wildcard, honestly. Even with a well-fitted denture, I’ve noticed coffee or soup can loosen things up if I’m not careful. I usually let my mug cool a bit—burnt tongue and wobbly teeth aren’t worth it. The fit adjustment makes all the difference though; before that, nothing really worked.

Not sure I totally agree about hot drinks always being an issue. Maybe I’m weird, but my top plate stays put even with coffee straight outta the pot. Now, biting into something chewy—that’s another story for me. Guess it really depends on how your mouth is shaped or maybe the brand of adhesive? Anyway, soup does get tricky sometimes, especially if it’s super hot and I rush it.
