Never thought about asking for pizza squares, does it really help that much? My dentist recommended using a denture adhesive when eating out...have you tried any good ones yet? Still figuring out what feels comfortable myself.
Pizza squares might help a bit, but honestly, I found that cutting pizza into smaller bites myself was easier than asking restaurants to do it. As for adhesives, I've tried a few brands—Fixodent worked okay, but the taste wasn't great. Poligrip felt more comfortable overall, though it took some trial and error to get the amount right. Everyone's different, so don't stress if it takes time to find your comfort zone...it definitely gets easier with practice.

Couldn't agree more. My son had similar struggles at first, especially with pizza and sandwiches. We found that pre-cutting food ourselves was way less awkward than special requests at restaurants—plus it saved us from having to explain every time. Adhesives were a bit trickier though. Fixodent was okay, but he also complained about the taste. Eventually, we settled on Poligrip too, but it took some experimenting to get it right. Traveling was tough initially, but honestly, after a few trips, it became second nature. Hang in there; you'll both find your rhythm soon enough.
Interesting about pre-cutting food—never thought of that. For me, the adhesives were actually the easy part (Fixodent's taste never bothered me much), but speaking clearly in noisy places...that was rough. Restaurants or airports were awkward at first because I kept feeling like everyone noticed my slight lisp. Eventually, though, I realized most people don't pay that much attention anyway. Just takes some getting used to, I guess.
Did you find certain adhesives better for traveling? I remember one time at a busy cafe overseas, my adhesive decided it was done for the day halfway through lunch...talk about awkward. Had to discreetly excuse myself and fix things up in the restroom. After that, I started carrying a small emergency kit—just a tiny tube of adhesive and some wipes in my bag. Made traveling a lot less stressful. Have you tried something similar?
