For my character, I’d probably have them Google “loose tooth home fix” first (bad idea, I know), then panic and finally call the dentist.

That’s honestly way too relatable. I once tried to convince myself saltwater rinses would magically tighten a wobbly molar—spoiler, they didn’t. The bill was a gut punch, but ignoring it would’ve just made things worse (and pricier). Facing it early saved me a lot of pain in the long run. Flossing really does hit different after that kind of scare.

I get the urge to try home fixes, but I always worry about making things worse. I’ve read so many stories where people waited too long, hoping for a miracle, and ended up needing extractions instead of simple treatments. Sometimes it feels like dentists are expensive, but honestly, the cost of waiting seems even scarier. I’d rather be overly cautious than risk losing a tooth... even if it means an awkward call to the dentist’s office.

I totally get that nervous feeling. My gums started bleeding last month and I kept googling stuff, hoping it was just stress or something minor. Tried switching toothpaste, rinsed with warm saltwater... nothing changed. Finally caved and called the dentist, felt silly for overreacting, but turns out I had early gum disease. The hygienist said waiting even a few more weeks could’ve made things worse. Now I feel like I’d rather be safe than sorry, awkward calls and all.

Totally relate to that “felt silly for overreacting” part. I used to wait things out, thinking it’d just clear up on its own, but one time my gums were so sore I finally went in—turns out it was way better to catch it early. Did your dentist mention if you needed a deep cleaning or just regular cleanings after that? Curious how they handled the early gum disease for you.

I get super anxious about this stuff, honestly. My dentist saw the bleeding and went straight for a deep cleaning—scaling and all that. Not the most fun, but it made a difference. I still stress every time I floss and see even a hint of pink...
