Sugar overload and your teeth: a bittersweet truth

Cinnamon gum's actually pretty good for that. It's got a bit of sweetness, but mostly it's spicy enough to distract me from wanting candy or chocolate. Mint always makes me think of Thin Mints cookies, so I totally get your peppermint patty thing. Cinnamon doesn't trigger those memories for me, thankfully...might be worth giving it a shot if you're trying to cut back on sugar cravings.

Cinnamon gum's an interesting suggestion - I hadn't thought of that. Mint always reminds me of toothpaste, which just makes me anxious about dental visits. Cinnamon might be a nice change...I'll give it a try next time cravings hit. Thanks for the tip!

Cinnamon gum sounds promising, but honestly, I tried it once and it just reminded me of those spicy cinnamon candies my grandma always had in her purse. You know, the ones that burn your tongue a little? Not exactly calming for dental anxiety, haha. Mint gum does have that toothpaste vibe, but weirdly enough, that's why I stick with it. It tricks my brain into thinking I've already brushed my teeth, so I feel less guilty after indulging in sweets.

Speaking of cravings, I've found that chewing gum right after eating sugary stuff helps me cut down on snacking. It's like my mouth gets distracted or something...though maybe that's just me overthinking it again. Anyway, good luck with the cinnamon experiment - hope it works better for you than it did for me.

Mint gum's alright, but honestly, cinnamon gum's spicy kick is exactly why I like it. Reminds me of those candies too - yeah, they burn a bit, but at least it wakes me up after lunch. Mint just feels too much like toothpaste to me...makes me think I'm at the dentist already. But hey, whatever distracts us from raiding the cookie jar again, right?

I totally get what you mean about mint gum feeling dentist-y...it does have that clinical vibe sometimes. Cinnamon gum definitely has a kick, and hey, if it keeps you from reaching for another cookie, that's a win in my book. Honestly though, just be careful with the cinnamon ones - some of them can be pretty sugary, and sugar sneaks into everything these days. I used to chew cinnamon gum all the time until my dentist gently pointed out how much sugar was hiding in my favorite brand. Now I'm paranoid and check labels constantly, haha. But yeah, whatever helps keep that sweet tooth under control is worth trying. Plus, cinnamon's spice can actually help freshen breath too...bonus points there. Just make sure you're not accidentally trading one sugary habit for another!
