I’ve noticed the same thing—my kid’s trays started looking a little cloudy after a few months, but they still fit just fine.

“unless you’re seeing structural degradation, you’re fine.”
Makes sense, but I do wonder about the peroxide soak. Does it ever make the trays brittle over time? I’ve been sticking to just brushing and rinsing, but maybe I’m being too cautious. Anyone else’s trays get funky smells after a while, or is that just us?

That’s actually something I’ve worried about too—I’m always paranoid I’ll mess up the trays with the wrong cleaner. I did try a peroxide soak once and didn’t notice brittleness, but mine did smell a little weird after a few weeks. Has anyone ever had them warp or lose their shape? I keep second-guessing if I’m cleaning them enough or overdoing it.

I totally get the paranoia—I've had the same worries about ruining my trays. The first time I cleaned mine, I used way too much peroxide and left them soaking overnight... they didn't warp, but they did smell funky for days. Now I just use a soft toothbrush and mild soap, rinse well, and let them air dry. Haven't noticed any shape changes or brittleness since. I think as long as you avoid hot water and harsh cleaners, they're pretty sturdy. It’s always that balance between clean enough and overdoing it, right?

Haha, the peroxide overnight soak... classic rookie move. You’re definitely not alone there—I’ve seen trays come in looking like they survived a science experiment gone wrong. Mild soap and a soft brush is spot on. I’d just add: skip toothpaste, too—some folks don’t realize it’s way too abrasive for the plastic. And yeah, hot water is basically tray kryptonite. Honestly, as long as they’re not getting tossed in the dishwasher, you’re golden.

I wish I’d known that before… I actually rinsed mine under hot water without thinking and now they feel a bit warped. Is there any way to fix that, or am I stuck needing a new set?
