Just had my first root canal yesterday, and I'm still kinda numb and sore. Dentist gave me the usual spiel about aftercare, but I'm curious how everyone actually handles it at home. Are you more of a cautious eater, sticking to soups and smoothies for days, or do you dive right back into regular foods as soon as you can chew without pain? Quick poll:

A) Team cautious eater—soft foods only
B) Team brave chewer—back to normal ASAP
C) Somewhere in between, depends on how I feel

I'm leaning towards C myself...depends on how hungry I get, you know?

Haha, totally get that. I'm usually cautious at first—soups, mashed potatoes, smoothies—but by day two or three, boredom kicks in and I'm carefully testing regular foods. Just listen to your body and chew gently!

Yeah, I get cautious too, but honestly after my last root canal I was eating pizza by day two...just took smaller bites and chewed on the opposite side. Did your dentist specifically warn against certain foods?

Did your dentist mention anything about crusty or chewy foods specifically? Mine was pretty firm about avoiding pizza crust and bagels for at least a week...maybe they're just extra cautious, but now I'm wondering if I missed out unnecessarily.

My dentist was kinda chill about it, said just to avoid super crunchy stuff for a few days. I stuck mostly to pasta and scrambled eggs at first, but honestly, by day three I was back to pizza crusts without issues... everyone's different tho.
