Has anyone found relief from jaw pain without surgery or mouth guards?

- Same here with mouth guards—mine always vanish by 2am, like my jaw is rejecting them in my sleep.
- Physical therapy sounds promising. I tried some YouTube jaw exercises but felt super awkward and gave up after a week... maybe I should’ve stuck with it.
- Sleeping on my back is impossible for me (I’m a serial side sleeper), but I do notice less pain when I prop my head up a bit.
- CBD cream was just “meh” for me too—nice smell, zero difference.
- Anyone else get random earaches with the jaw pain? That’s the worst part for me.

Wait, the earaches are a thing? I thought I was just being dramatic about that. Mine come and go, but sometimes it feels like a deep ache right inside my ear, especially after a rough night. Does anyone get headaches too, or is that just part of the jaw tension? Also, has anyone tried heat packs or anything like that before bed? I’m kind of desperate for something simple that actually helps...

Earaches are definitely a real thing with jaw issues—it's not just you. That deep ache can actually be referred pain from the jaw joint (TMJ) since it's so close to the ear canal. Headaches are pretty common too, especially if you clench or grind at night. Heat packs can help relax the muscles, but I've found that sometimes they just make me more aware of the discomfort. I actually got more relief from gentle jaw stretches and being mindful of my posture during the day—surprisingly, that seemed to reduce both the ear and head pain for me. Heat is worth a shot, but it's not a magic fix for everyone.
