“Mints mask it, but if there’s stuff stuck between your teeth, nothing really beats flossing for me.”

Couldn’t agree more about mints just covering things up. I’ve tried every gum and mouthwash out there, but unless I actually get the gunk out from between my teeth, my breath never feels truly fresh. Floss picks are a lifesaver—I keep them in my car too, and honestly, sometimes I’ll just duck into a parking lot to use one before meeting someone.

Have you ever tried those little interdental brushes? They’re a bit bulkier than picks but seem to get more out, especially after popcorn or seeds. As for xylitol gum, yeah, it’s annoyingly expensive. I buy it in bulk online when there’s a sale, but half the time I forget to restock and end up grabbing whatever’s at the checkout. Do you notice any difference in staining with xylitol vs regular gum? I’m always paranoid about coffee stains too, but not sure if the gum really helps or if it’s just wishful thinking.

I swear, floss picks are the unsung heroes of my glove compartment. There’s something about knowing I can tackle rogue spinach or that popcorn kernel before a work meeting that gives me weird peace of mind. I’ve tried those interdental brushes too—felt like I was wielding a tiny bottle brush in my mouth, but hey, they do get the stubborn stuff out.

About the gum thing... I always *want* to believe xylitol is doing something magical for my coffee stains, but honestly, I haven’t noticed much difference. Maybe it’s helping behind the scenes? My dentist says it’s good for cavities, but as far as stains go, I still end up with that “did you just drink three espressos?” look by mid-afternoon.

Funny story: once chewed a super strong mint gum right before a dentist appointment and the hygienist asked if I’d just had mouthwash—guess it masked more than just breath. But yeah, nothing beats actually getting in there with floss or a brush when you want to feel fresh.

Right? I keep chewing that xylitol gum like it’s going to erase my latte habit, but my teeth are still rocking the “before” look in whitening ads. At least it helps with breath (or pretends to). Floss picks are clutch though—I’ve got a stash everywhere because braces mean food gets stuck in places I didn’t know existed. You’re not alone in the espresso struggle.

I feel this so much. I’ve tried every “miracle” gum and even those fancy mints that claim to nuke coffee breath, but honestly, nothing really lasts. My techie brain keeps hoping there’s a gadget for this—like a pocket-sized breath analyzer or something? Until then, I’m just stockpiling floss picks in all my laptop bags and hoping nobody notices the latte aftermath during Zoom calls.

Honestly, I get the appeal of gadgets, but I’ve found that even the fanciest tech won’t beat a quick rinse with water after coffee. I’ve tried all the gums too—most just mask the problem for a bit. Cheapest fix for me is water, then floss if I’m desperate. Not glamorous, but it works better than shelling out for endless “miracle” products.
