I’m in the same boat—those intense mouthwashes always made my gums sting and freaked me out more than they helped. Honestly, just switching to a super soft brush and saltwater when things flare up has been a game changer. I get the anxiety about loose teeth (seriously, I check mine way too often), but scaling back on the harsh stuff really did make things calmer for me. Sometimes less is more, even if all those ads say otherwise.

Yeah, those super strong mouthwashes always made me feel like my gums were getting nuked. I tried one of those “kills 99.9% of germs” brands and my mouth felt like it was on fire—pretty sure I lost taste buds for a week. I switched to a soft brush too, and honestly, my gums stopped looking so angry. But does anyone else feel like the more you read about dental stuff online, the more you start poking at your teeth and worrying? Sometimes I wonder if the tech behind these mouthwashes is just overkill for most people.

I totally get what you mean—after reading up on all this dental tech, I started overanalyzing every twinge in my mouth too. It’s wild how intense some of those mouthwashes are. I actually switched to a milder rinse and, weirdly enough, my gums calmed down a lot. Sometimes I wonder if the “99.9%” claim is more about marketing than actual necessity for most of us. Doesn’t help that the more you read, the more you notice stuff you never worried about before...

I hear you on the mouthwash claims—some of those “kills everything” formulas left my mouth feeling raw. I switched to a gentle one, too, and honestly, my gums stopped bleeding as much. All that reading makes me hyper-aware of every wiggle or ache, but my dentist said overdoing mouthwash can actually mess with your mouth’s balance. Sometimes less really is more.

I totally get what you mean about feeling hyper-aware after reading too much. I swear, the more I read about mouthwash and gums, the more I start poking at my teeth just to check if they're loose. Honestly, it freaks me out a bit. I used to think the “kills 99% of germs” stuff was the gold standard, but after a few weeks of that, my mouth felt like sandpaper and my gums were way more sensitive.

I switched to a milder rinse too, but I still find myself questioning if it’s doing enough or just making things worse in a different way. My dentist also said not to overdo it—apparently your mouth needs some good bacteria? That was news to me. Part of me wonders if we’re all just getting sold on fear with these products.

Anyway, since I dialed back on the harsh stuff and focused more on gentle brushing and flossing (ugh, flossing is the worst), my gums are less angry. Still paranoid every time something feels off though. Is that just me? Sometimes it feels like there’s no winning...
